ACADEMIC SECTION

INTRODUCTION

Maktab DPM al-Muhtadee Billah is a purpose built Bruneian Government Sixth Form college situated in the capital of Brunei Darussalam, Bandar Seri Begawan. Catering for a total of 1100 full-time students, about a third of whom board in the college hostel adjacent to the college site, it is named after the Sultan of Brunei's eldest son and the crown prince, Duli Pengiran Muda Mahakota Pengiran Muda Al-Muhtadee Billah. All students are studying for GCE A-levels, the vast majority in English medium. Approximately 60% of its graduates eventually proceed to tertiary education at degree or diploma level , about 20% in overseas institutions, mainly in the United Kingdom, and the balance in local institutions.

This section is a compilation of the academic curriculum and courses of study which our college provides.

The purpose of this section is to make known to prospective students the choices and options in the academic curriculum that are available to them. It is also hoped that students will be able to make the right choice of subjects in order to be well-equipped for their future careers. Wherever possible each subject department heads have given some examples of Further Education and Career prospects in their own subject areas.

It is also worth mentioning here that 'A' level can be stimulating and rewarding but it is always demanding and time-consuming. Above all else success in the subjects requires a keen interest in the subject and the motivation to do well, the determination to succeed and self discipline to sustain one's effort throughout the course.

We look forward on you for joining us in our college!
