A brief outline of the syllabus: 

 

·        Understanding the process of accounting

·        Presentation of final financial statements

·        Analysis of results

·        Costing and management accounts

 

 

The particular qualities which are needed for this subject:

 

Literacy and a willingness to practice the various accounting methods.

Being numerate is also an asset.

 

 

Examination :

 

Paper 1                                    Multiple Choice Test                                  1 hour 15 minutes

Paper 2                                    Structured Theory Paper                             1 hour 30 minutes

Paper 3                                    Theory Paper Based on Case Study            2 hours 30 minutes

All papers are compulsory. There is no choice of questions.

 

 

Suggested prior grades which A level teachers feel are necessary for success in this subject.  (NB These may not be the minimum entry qualifications set by the Ministry)

Accounting student : Credit in ‘O’ Level English, Mathematics and Accounting

Non Accounting student : Aggregate in English and Mathematics should be 10 or below
